Dipika Kakar, known for her role in Sasural Simar Ka, recently faced one of the hardest battles of her life. The actress, cherished by millions, was diagnosed with stage 2 liver cancer after doctors discovered a tumour. What followed was a storm of emotions, countless prayers, and an exhausting fight for health. Now back home after a long hospital stay, Dipika opened up about her journey through a heartfelt vlog.
In this new vlog, Dipika expressed immense gratitude for the love and prayers she received from family, friends, and fans. She shared that every message, blessing, and prayer reached her, and it made her feel deeply loved and supported. The actress admitted that she felt truly blessed to be surrounded by such affection during her most difficult days.
Dipika then spoke about the moment everything changed. She revealed that Shoaib Ibrahim, her husband, knew about the medical report but chose not to tell her right away. He waited until they reached the hospital. It was there, in a quiet hospital corridor, that reality struck. Dipika remembered asking Shoaib about the AFP report. She recalled, “Maine Shoaib se puccha ki you know what the result of the AFP report is, and he just looked at me and said, that usme thodi gadbad hai. Phir maine dekha toh thodi nahi bohot gadbad thi, and that moment uss corridor mein khade hoke, we both broke down. Shoaib bhi ro diye, unhe hug karke mai bhi rone lagi.”
That moment stayed with her. The walls of the hospital, the dim lights, and the weight of those words created a memory that would never leave her. Both of them cried, holding each other tightly. Soon after, the doctors explained the situation, confirming the diagnosis and detailing the treatment that awaited.
Dipika underwent a 14-hour surgery, a physically and emotionally draining procedure. She remained in the ICU for three days, away from her loved ones, especially her little son, Ruhaan. Being separated from him, she shared, was the hardest part of all. She admitted that while the physical pain was difficult, it was nothing compared to the ache of being apart from her child.
Throughout these painful days, Shoaib proved to be her anchor. Dipika spoke with warmth about how he stood by her like a shadow. He didn’t just offer support; he became her caregiver, nurse, and strength. She mentioned that he reminded her to take her medicines, handled her mood swings, and ensured she stayed mentally strong. It felt, she said, like a parent caring for a child.
After the operation, Dipika made an announcement on social media stating that the tumour had been successfully removed. Yet, she clarified that the fight isn’t over. The treatment continues, and regular checkups remain a part of her recovery journey. But her spirit seemed lighter, her face brighter, and her voice steadier as she shared these updates with those who worried for her.
