Kaun Banega Crorepati is a celebration of humanity. And now, Kaun Banega Crorepati 16 is set to celebrate the pride of our nation: three Paralympic medallists Navdeep Singh, Sumit Antil, and Avani Lekhara. The show will pay tribute to the journeys of these three athletes.
Navdeep Singh shared his struggle as a dwarf. He said it was known just after his birth that he would be a dwarf. He said, “Kafi parivaar waloko bhi taane sunne milte the ki ye jivan me kya kar payega usko circus me vej do wah se kuch kha kama lega.” He added “Sathme wo sab mereko bhi tease karte the sir ki kahi upar jageh pe bitha diya ki utar ke dikha. Comparison karna mujhko feel karana kit u alag hai.” He said that his family members fight quite such problems. But he mentioned that his family was always in his support and they never thought that he was different.
He shared an interesting anecdote of his life. He said when people used to say that he was older but still stood in front of the line he used to say one of Amitabh Bachchan’s dialogues, “Jahan hum khade hote hai wahi se line suru hoti hai.” He said he has always focused on the solution rather than the problem. Mr. Amitabh Bachchan applauded him saying, “Hum apne aap ko itna chota samajh rahe hai. Aapne desh ka nam itna ujjwal kiya.” Everyone including Big B and Sumit Antil gave him a standing ovation.
Sumit Antil also shared his story, how he got into an accident that cost him one of his legs and he also talked about his dreams. He said he got into a bike accident with a truck. He shared he had only seen two dreams one is joining the Indian army or being a wrestler. He said, “Donohi tut gaye the sir wahape. Sare zindegi gharwalope bojh hi ban gaye. Sir jab Javline dekha to kahina kahi ye feel hua ki Javeline nehi mereko chuna hai. Wo ek aysa step tha sir jo mere journey ka bohot hi important tha.” Mr. Amithabh Bachchan appreciated him saying, “Gale me gold medal latka hua hai isse badi uplabdhi jo hai kise prapt hoti hai!”
Big B asked them how they were feeling while standing on the podium. Navneet replied, “8 sal se intezar kar rahe the sir iss pal ka. Aur waha jab hum khade hote hai to India ke hi bande sirf ye jante hai ki Navdeep ka medal aaye hai baki sab to ye jante hai ki India ka medal aaya hai.” He added, “Jab India ken am se represent hote hai to pride feel hota hai.”
In a fun discussion, Avni Lekhara shared her favorite movie. She shared, “Sir, everyone talks about your films and picks out their favourite ones. There are so many iconic films to pick from but my favourite film of yours is ‘Bhootnath.’ I was very young at the time, and my father had a transferable job, so we moved around a lot, which made it hard for me to make friends, especially since I was a bit of an introvert. When I watched ‘Bhootnath,’ I loved it so much. I wished for a friend like Bhootnath! It was the first time I saw a ghost portrayed as a superhero, and it wasn’t scary at all. I remember thinking how amazing it would be to be in Banku’s place, just hanging out with Bhootnath!”
Big B was overwhelmed by this and replied, “Thank you very much for sharing that. The story of ‘Bhootnath’ is indeed wonderful. As you mentioned, Banku initially doesn’t believe in ghosts, but later, his connection with the ghost is beautifully portrayed. I’m glad you brought up ‘Bhootnath.’ The director recently messaged me, suggesting that it’s been many years since the film’s release, and we should consider re-releasing it. If he watches this program, he will be very pleased to see that people still remember and cherish the movie.”
KBC 16 is ready to relive the struggle of these athletes. The episode is worth watching due to its life stories and fun conversation.
