The Traitors has just made its debut, and the mix of contestants already has viewers hooked. What’s really keeping audiences glued are the unpredictable twists and bold evictions that no one saw coming. In an exclusive chat with Pinkvilla, popular fashion critic and influencer Sufi Motiwala spilled several inside details about the show’s upcoming episodes and some shocking moments from behind the scenes.
During the conversation, Sufi teased that the biggest surprises are yet to unfold. He hinted that episodes five, six, and eight are going to be the ones to watch out for. Dropping a spoiler, he said, ” Those eliminations are the real gags.” He also mentioned an eerie moment, hinting, “One contestant also gets a funeral. It happens in either 5th, 6th or 8th episodes.”
While talking about the early evictions, Sufi revealed that Karan Kundrra’s exit left him disappointed. He felt Karan was innocent but fell victim to suspicion from the other players. According to Sufi, Karan struggled to speak for himself during the elimination because of an unexpected glitch on the set. He explained that a technical issue prevented Karan from voicing his defense properly.
Sufi also opened up about his own journey on the show. He confessed that he was completely unprepared for his Traitors interview, having never seen the show’s format before. The news of his selection came as a shock, but excitement quickly took over. He shared that The Traitors felt nothing like Bigg Boss or Big Brother, describing it as a totally different game of emotions and strategy.
One of the moments that shook Sufi early in the game came from Apoorva Mukhija. In front of Karan Johar and the entire cast, Apoorva bluntly declared that she didn’t like him. Sufi admitted that this moment was a wake-up call. He felt unprepared for that kind of openness and confrontation.
The setting of the show added its own tension. The contestants were all staying in a massive palace, and with emotions running high, every elimination stung harder. Sufi described it as a “do or die” situation where everyone was struggling to survive the next eviction. With two contestants leaving daily, the pressure was constant.
Interestingly, amid the chaos, Sufi and Apoorva grew close. He revealed that their bond formed over shared struggles. Their past experiences and emotional baggage helped them connect, and they decided to have each other’s back in the game.
When asked whether influencers like him and Apoorva were judged for being creators, Sufi denied it. He explained that while disagreements happened, no one treated them unfairly. He highlighted his bond with Raftaar, saying that despite occasional clashes, Raftaar was always supportive. He also praised Karan Kundrra for his genuine kindness, stating that no one looked down on anyone.
On the question of dirty politics, Sufi clarified there wasn’t any, but laziness was a bigger issue in the house. He pointed out that while he, Apoorva, Raftaar, Uorfi Javed, Purab Jha, Elnaaz Norouzi, and Janvee Gaurr were actively participating, others like Ashish Vidyarthi, Anshula Kapoor, and Nikita Luther seemed less involved.
When it came to personal dynamics, Sufi honestly admitted that he and Uorfi Javed never connected. He said, “I think me and Uorfi entered the show with no bond and me and Uorfi left the show with no bond.” There was no bitterness, just an absence of connection.
He ended the conversation by praising Karan Johar’s role on the show. Sufi described him as a great mentor, someone who managed to guide the contestants while keeping the drama alive.
