Shoaib Ibrahim recently took to his vlog to share an emotional update about his wife Dipika Kakar’s health. The television actress, loved by millions, has been battling stage 2 liver cancer. A few days ago, she underwent a long and critical surgery. Shoaib revealed that the operation lasted nearly 14 hours. The entire family was anxious during that time, waiting for good news. Thankfully, the surgery went well, and on the auspicious occasion of Eid Al Adha, Dipika was shifted from the ICU to a regular hospital room.

Alongside this tough phase, the family also welcomed a new member. Shoaib’s sister Saba and her husband Sunny had their newborn’s Aqeeqah ceremony recently. The religious ritual took place on the seventh day after the baby’s birth, as per tradition. Shoaib, who is now a proud Mamu, visited Saba’s home to bless the little one. Saba and Sunny later hosted a Quran Khani at their place, attended by cousins and close relatives. It was a small, intimate event filled with warmth and quiet happiness.

In their vlog, Saba spoke candidly about how this time had been a mixture of emotions. She admitted that during her pregnancy, both she and Sunny were so afraid of evil eyes that they avoided documenting those months. “We were so scared of Nazar that we didn’t shoot any memories during pregnancy,” she shared honestly.

Sunny also reflected on the timing of their son’s Aqeeqah. He revealed that they decided to perform the ceremony before Dipika’s hospitalization. “Bhabhi and Bhai were home so we did the ritual soon so that the little baby got blessings from his Mamu and Mami,” Sunny said. It was a thoughtful moment for the family to gather before facing uncertain days.

As the surgery date arrived, tension gripped the household. Saba expressed how hard it was for everyone. “When Bhabhi got admitted, that whole week was extremely difficult for all of us,” she confessed. She added that they didn’t feel like sharing anything publicly during those days. The family stayed close, supporting one another through the stressful wait.

Post-surgery, Saba finally got to speak to Dipika. She admired her sister-in-law’s strength and resilience, saying, “Woh toh himmatwali hai hi, I spoke to her as well.” Though Eid this year felt different without Shoaib and Dipika at home, the arrival of Saba’s baby added a bittersweet joy. Saba admitted, “Tomorrow is Eid so it isn’t very celebratory because Bhai and Bhabhi are not there but it is special as well as it will be our son’s first.”

She shared how this time was filled with both happiness and heartache. The family chose to keep celebrations simple, focusing only on important rituals. “We only did the important rituals during this phase, we will celebrate it the grand way when our family is together,” she promised.

Shoaib, too, reassured his fans after Dipika’s blood test reports came back normal. He explained that although part of her liver had been removed, it was manageable and not a cause for long-term concern. The couple, who first met on the sets of Sasural Simar Ka, has faced this challenge together with courage. Married for years now, they are parents to their son Ruhaan, who continues to bring light into their lives amidst difficult days.
