Last week, Dipika Kakar’s husband, actor Shoaib Ibrahim, shared some difficult news. He revealed that doctors had found a tumor in Dipika’s liver, roughly the size of a tennis ball. A surgery was planned to remove it. But before that could happen, new challenges emerged. On Tuesday evening, Dipika herself addressed her followers through a heartfelt social media statement. She announced that she had been diagnosed with second-stage cancer.

Wanting to clear the growing rumors and anxious speculations, Shoaib released a video on his vlog. In it, he explained that people had been spreading all kinds of information. They felt it was better to come forward with the truth themselves. Shoaib shared that Dipika’s scheduled surgery was postponed. On Monday, her doctors advised against it because of heavy chest congestion caused by a cold. The surgery, which was to take place that week, was pushed to the next. Because of the delay, her medications had to be adjusted too.

Shoaib didn’t hold back from speaking about the scan results. He said they didn’t want to hide anything from their well-wishers. As he had already mentioned before, the tumor was about the size of a tennis ball. He then invited Dipika to join him in the video, saying it would be best if she personally addressed her health condition.

Dipika appeared emotional yet steady as she spoke to her followers. She said, “Hi guys, I am meeting you all after so many days, Shoaib has updated you all about my health. The tumor has second-stage cancer. The doctor is very confident that it will be completely cured, and we trust him. We are confident and maintaining our strength, of course, even the word cancer in anyone’s life is very scary, for the patient and the family. It affects you mentally, we are just being strong.”

Shoaib further explained that the most positive news was that the cancer hadn’t spread to any other part of her body. He said the AFP report showed abnormal readings, which led doctors to confirm the tumor was malignant. To be absolutely sure, another test was conducted. Thankfully, the PET scan results came back normal. The disease was confined to the tumor alone, and once it was removed, the chances of recovery looked promising.

He reflected on how life tests everyone in different ways. According to him, this was one of those challenging phases for them, but they still felt grateful. Shoaib called these “testing times” but assured viewers that this too shall pass.

Shoaib admitted he was hesitant to show Dipika in the vlog before she had recovered a little. He was concerned about people creating insensitive thumbnails and posts online. But as rumors kept circulating, they decided it was important to address everything openly. He added that Dipika had shown immense strength throughout this ordeal. He confessed he felt a little low the day before but chose to respect the doctor’s decision to postpone the operation.

Dipika ended the video by expressing gratitude for the constant prayers and support. “Everyone gets scared, I was also very scared. I will come out of it strongly. Please do pray for me, us, and also Ruhaan,” she said, referring to their little son. It was a moment of honesty and vulnerability, met with warmth and prayers from fans everywhere.
