Former Bigg Boss OTT 3 winner Sana Makbul has been admitted to a hospital. The actress has been battling autoimmune liver disease since 2020. Her sudden hospitalisation came just days after she posted photos from her Eid celebrations with family. The news left her fans and well-wishers worried, as no detailed update on her condition has been shared yet.
Her close friend, Dr Aashna Kanchwala, posted a heartfelt message alongside a picture of Sana from the hospital bed. Sana appeared weak in the photo, sparking concern among followers. Dr Aashna expressed her pride in Sana’s resilience, writing, “My strongest Diva I’m so proud of you for showing so much strength and resilience as you battle such a grave condition. Inshallah, you will fight this and come out even stronger… Allah is with you. And I am always standing by you. Get well soon my love @divasana.”
This message gave a glimpse of the battle Sana has been fighting quietly behind her cheerful public appearances. The actress had first spoken openly about her health earlier this year on Bharti Singh’s podcast. There, Sana had revealed that she was diagnosed with an autoimmune liver disease in 2020. She explained how this condition causes her body’s own cells to attack her liver, sometimes leading to further complications like lupus or arthritis.
She admitted it was one of the hardest things to manage. Though she appeared confident on Bigg Boss OTT 3, she was silently handling unpredictable health challenges. Sana had said that she has to rely on steroids, immunosuppressants, and other medicines to stay stable. Calling it a lifestyle disorder, she added that the autoimmune nature of the disease makes it unpredictable. “My health keeps fluctuating; I don’t know if this can be cured completely,” she had confessed.
This rare health battle reminded fans of Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s struggle with myositis, a similar autoimmune issue. Sana shared that such conditions often go unnoticed by others because patients look fine on the outside while their bodies fight internally. She had turned vegan recently to improve her health and make life adjustments that could support her recovery.

Despite taking medication and making lifestyle changes, Sana’s health has been fragile. She once said that there are good days and bad days, and sometimes she feels helpless because no one can predict when the condition might worsen. Those around her admire her calmness and bravery, even when she’s struggling.
Her recent hospitalization came as a shock, especially as it happened soon after she celebrations. Friends and followers, who saw her smiling in those photos, did not expect this sudden turn of events. Though her condition remains serious, her inner circle has faith in her strength.
