Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai has been a constant presence on Indian television screens since 2009. Over the years, the show introduced viewers to many beloved characters and memorable actors. However, along with the show’s success, controversies and cast changes have often made headlines.
Recently, a major reshuffle took place within the show’s cast. Shehzada Dhami and Pratiksha Honmukhe, who portrayed Armaan and Ruhi, were unexpectedly shown the door. The decision caught many by surprise, as their characters had just begun gaining audience interest. Rajan Shahi, the show’s producer, addressed the sudden exits by accusing Shehzada of being unprofessional and claimed that Pratiksha lacked acting skills. He stated they weren’t serious about their responsibilities on set.
Both actors, however, denied these allegations. Neither accepted the reasons given for their removal and maintained that they had remained committed to their roles. Despite their explanations, the show moved ahead swiftly, with Rohit Purohit stepping into the role of Armaan and Garvita Sadhwani joining as Ruhi. Following that, another change took place when Shivam Khajuria, who was essaying Rohit Poddar, left the show. His exit opened the door for television actor Romiit Raaj.
In a recent interview, Romiit reflected on the situation surrounding Shehzada’s exit. When asked about the work culture on set after all the negative stories, Romiit responded confidently, saying that the production team operates in a very structured and disciplined way. According to him, things happen on time, and there’s no trace of negativity anywhere on the sets.
Addressing whether he had second thoughts about joining the show after hearing of the controversy, Romiit praised Rohit Purohit. “Rohit Purohit is blessed and lucky to be playing Armaan Poddar,” he remarked, showing support for his co-actor.
He also spoke about how fate played a role in the cast reshuffle. Shivam Khajuria, who left Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, received a promising opportunity to play Prem in Anupamaa, another popular show produced by Rajan Shahi. Romiit acknowledged that because Shivam took up that role, he got the chance to play Rohit Poddar. He shared his perspective that these shifts were driven by destiny and that every actor involved viewed it positively.
Romiit expressed that he, Rohit, and Shivam all considered these moments as valuable opportunities. The constant changes didn’t discourage them but rather brought new chapters into their careers. He noted that sometimes things fall into place unexpectedly, and one must grab the opportunities that come their way.
