Shweta Tiwari has long been a familiar name in Indian television. Known for her graceful screen presence and powerful performances, she has built a place in countless hearts over the years. Once again, the actress finds herself in the news after her ex-husband, Raja Chaudhary, made explosive claims about their past.
In a candid conversation with Hindi Rush, Raja opened up about incidents from their troubled marriage. He alleged that not only did he face blame for things he did not entirely do, but that he was also physically attacked by Shweta’s family. Raja recalled a specific episode when he went to her home and was confronted by her brothers. He claimed Shweta’s then-husband, Abhinav Kohli, was present and witnessed the whole scene.
Raja said that tensions escalated quickly during that visit. According to him, Shweta’s family refused to let him enter, slamming the door on his face and provoking him. He admitted that he lost his temper and broke the door. Recalling the moment, he remarked, “Jaat khopdi satak jaati hai kai bar, so I broke the door.” He insisted that while the police arrived and a scene unfolded, many of the stories that circulated afterward were exaggerated or untrue.
The former actor also shared that Shweta’s second husband, Abhinav, wasn’t immune to problems either. Raja claimed that after their divorce, Abhinav reached out to him in distress. According to Raja, Abhinav broke down and expressed his own struggles. Raja stated that Abhinav came to him weeping, overwhelmed by his situation with Shweta after their marriage ended. He claimed that Abhinav told hims that Shweta treated him as ‘boy’.
The emotional turmoil between Shweta and Raja traces back years. The two tied the knot in 1998 in a simple ceremony. They welcomed a daughter, Palak Tiwari, who has since stepped into the limelight herself. But their marriage soon crumbled. By 2007, Shweta filed for divorce, citing alcoholism and domestic abuse. The legal separation was completed in 2012.
Shweta later found love again with actor Abhinav Kohli. Their relationship blossomed over three years of courtship before they married in 2013. Together, they had a son, Reyaansh, in 2016. Unfortunately, history seemed to repeat itself. By 2019, Shweta filed a domestic violence complaint against Abhinav, accusing him of harassing both her and her daughter Palak.
In his interview, Raja didn’t just stop at past grievances. He alleged that Shweta deliberately kept Palak away from him. He also accused her of preventing Abhinav from seeing his own son, Reyaansh. According to Raja, both fathers had been denied proper access to their children.
