Virat Kohli often dominates headlines for his cricketing feats, but this time, the attention has shifted to his off-field actions. A recent social media stir involving the cricketer, actress Avneet Kaur, and singer Rahul Vaidya has grabbed public interest. The entire episode began after Kohli’s accidental like on one of Avneet’s Instagram posts, which had already set the internet buzzing. While fans were still talking about that, Rahul Vaidya entered the picture, adding his own dose of humor and sarcasm.
Rahul, known for his playful personality on social media, posted a video claiming that Virat Kohli had blocked him on Instagram, hinting that perhaps his block too was an algorithm mishap. In the clip, Rahul teased, “Guys, Virat Kohli has blocked me, you all know. So I think voh bhi Instagram ki glitch hogi. Voh Virat Kohli ne block nahi kiya hoga. Instagram ke algorithm ne bola hoga Virat Kohli ko, ‘Ek kaam kar, main tere behalf pe Rahul Vaidya ko block kar deti hoon.’ Haina?”
While many found the video amusing, Kohli’s die-hard supporters didn’t take the joke lightly. Almost immediately, Rahul’s comment sections were flooded with reactions. Some mocked, others trolled, and a few crossed the line with personal remarks. The singer, initially brushing it off, soon expressed his disappointment as the trolling escalated beyond acceptable limits.
What started as lighthearted banter turned ugly when people dragged Rahul’s family into the conversation. This is when the singer decided to speak up. Addressing the trolls directly, Rahul vented his frustration, saying, “Virat Kohli’s fans are even bigger jokers than Virat.” He didn’t stop there and condemned the abusive comments aimed at his loved ones. Calling out those targeting his wife and sister, he remarked, “Now you are abusing me, that’s fine. But you are abusing my wife, my sister who have nothing to do with this! So I was right. That’s why you all Virat Kohli fans are jokers! 2 kaudi ke jokers.”

He even posted a video on the song, “Sari umar mai jocker Jo banya Raya” with a caption that goes, “My favourite song since yesterday”. Fans are bashing him in the comment section. One of them wrote, “Apne Talent ke dum per Famous ho nhi skta ye to Virat jaise star player ki support lene chala wo bhi aise ab dekh inhe Virat Kohli Fans nhi chorenge.” Another one wrote, “Nice song selection…it suits your personality too.”
Despite not having any past history with Kohli, Rahul recalled how this wasn’t the first time he was surprised by the cricketer’s actions. A while back, he had admitted his confusion about being blocked in the first place. Back then, he confessed, “Aaj tak samajh mein nahi aaya, bhai ne block kyun kiya. I don’t know the reason. I’ve never had any issues with him.”
The entire situation became a perfect example of how small incidents on social media can quickly blow up into headline-making controversies. Neither Kohli nor his official representatives have responded to Rahul’s recent video or the remarks that followed. Fans, however, have kept the debate alive across various platforms.
For now, it serves as yet another reminder of how online communities, celebrity culture, and unfiltered fandom can create stormy moments out of harmless jokes.
