Singer Pawandeep Rajan, the winner of Indian Idol 12, is now on the road to recovery after a serious car accident left him with multiple fractures. The incident took place in the early hours of May 5, near the Chopla Chauraha overbridge in Amroha, Uttar Pradesh. Pawandeep was traveling towards Delhi to catch a flight for an event scheduled in Ahmedabad when the accident happened. His car reportedly collided with a stationary truck, leading to severe injuries for the singer and two others in the vehicle.
Along with Pawandeep, his driver Rahul Singh and fellow passenger Ajay Mehra were also hurt in the crash. All three were rushed to a nearby medical facility for emergency care. Given the extent of Pawandeep’s injuries, he was later shifted to a more advanced hospital in Noida for better treatment.
His team revealed that the singer suffered several fractures in his limbs, along with minor injuries in other areas. A statement from his management team explained that after being taken to the local hospital, he was moved to Delhi NCR for further care. On May 6, his condition reportedly worsened, with him battling intense pain and slipping in and out of consciousness. The day was difficult for his family and friends as they anxiously waited for updates.
The same evening, doctors decided to proceed with surgery to treat the more critical fractures. He was wheeled into the operation theatre around 7 pm, and the procedure lasted six hours. The medical team worked to stabilize some of his major fractures successfully. After the operation, Pawandeep was kept under close observation in the ICU to monitor his condition.
Close friend Govind Digari shared a hopeful update for fans through social media. Posting a picture on Instagram, Govind stood beside Pawandeep, who was seen lying in a hospital bed but managing a weak smile. One of the fans expressed heartfelt concern, writing, “Get well soon Pawbnu! God bless you.” Another relieved follower commented that it was a blessing to see him smile again.
His team, through Pawandeep’s official Instagram Stories, addressed the situation and thanked everyone for their prayers. They confirmed that while the initial hours were tough, the major procedures had gone well. They also mentioned that a second round of surgeries would be scheduled after a few days of rest to address other fractures and injuries.
As per his team’s latest update, Pawandeep has now been shifted from the ICU to a private room. He continues to remain under medical supervision, and further surgeries are expected in the coming days. His family and close friends remain by his side as he slowly moves toward recovery.
