In her words, “I had no idea that I’m allergic to shellfish like crabs, prawns, lobsters, etc. I’m allergic to it.” The actress shared that she ate four prawns without suspecting any danger. What followed left her gasping for breath and fighting a critical allergic reaction.
Within minutes, Nikki experienced intense discomfort. She narrated how her lungs began to swell, her face and eyes puffed up, and her body felt itchy all over. Her face started growing in size, and the internal swelling caused her organs to press against each other, making it hard for her to breathe. She explained that her breathing stopped, turning it into a medical emergency.
Nikki recalled being rushed to the hospital in a wheelchair. The doctors, upon seeing her condition, immediately advised ICU admission. She said, “I was admitted to the ICU.” The actress explained that ICU medications are meant for emergency reactions like hers, which made immediate intervention necessary.
She was given emergency medication and admitted to the ICU for two days. According to Nikki, the situation was extremely serious.
At the time of the incident, Nikki was accompanied by her stylist and makeup artist. Her family was away, and even Arbaz Patel wasn’t around. She shared that it all happened so fast that there wasn’t time to reach out to loved ones immediately.
