Parth Samthaan’s journey in CID 2 may have been brief, but it certainly left a mark. The actor, who stepped into the shoes of ACP Ayushmaan, joined the rebooted crime drama with mixed reaction from fans. Taking over the mantle once held by the iconic Shivaji Satam’s ACP Pradyuman wasn’t an easy task. Yet, in his short time on the show, Parth managed to impress fans with his tough, commanding screen presence.
The storyline took an unexpected turn when the makers decided to revive the character of ACP Pradyuman. With his dramatic return, Parth’s character made an exit, bringing an end to his chapter in CID 2. While fans were taken by surprise, many voiced their disappointment over his early departure. Parth, however, seems to have walked away with fond memories of the experience.
In a recent conversation with entertainment portal Zoom, Parth opened up about his time on the show and the kind of response his character received. The actor had nothing but kind words for his co-actors and the team behind the series. He described the atmosphere on the sets as calm and harmonious. Calling it one of the most “mature” and “positive” work environments he has experienced, Parth explained how grateful he felt to be part of a team that displayed such unity.
When asked about the audience’s reaction to his portrayal of ACP Ayushmaan, Parth couldn’t help but smile. He admitted he hadn’t anticipated the overwhelming love his character would receive in such a short span. Viewers connected with his performance so strongly that many even mistook him for a real-life cop.
The actor recalled an unusual, heartfelt message from a fan that left a lasting impression on him. “I received a DM from a fan requesting me to solve his mother’s murder case. He asked for my contact number, as he felt I was his last hope,” Parth shared. The message was a stark reminder of the influence television characters can have on viewers and how, for some, fiction blurs with reality.
That wasn’t the only instance where fans crossed the boundary between reel and real. Parth revealed that several fans even messaged him seeking the contact details of the female cops from the show. The actor was both amused and touched by the sincerity of such requests.
He even shared a farewell video with a heartfelt message.
Despite his exit, Parth holds no regrets about his stint on CID 2. He views it as a rewarding experience, having had the chance to work alongside seasoned performers and be part of a show with such a loyal fanbase. His portrayal of ACP Ayushmaan may have been short-lived, but it clearly struck a chord.
