The Great Indian Kapil Show made a grand comeback with its much-awaited third season on June 21. The premiere episode turned out to be a laughter-packed evening, made even more special by the presence of Bollywood superstar Salman Khan. The actor arrived on the show with his trademark charm and a few personal stories that left the audience both surprised and amused. But the bigger highlight of the night was the return of Navjot Singh Sidhu to the show, taking his place alongside Archana Puran Singh on the judge’s panel after a long gap.
Kapil Sharma kicked off the episode by welcoming the audience with his usual energy and wit. He turned toward Navjot Singh Sidhu and pulled his leg right from the start. Kapil said, “I want to thank Netflix for giving us that much budget that we could afford Sidhu paaji.” The audience burst into laughter as Sidhu grinned at the jibe.
Kapil wasn’t done yet. He teased Sidhu about joining forces with Archana on the same panel again, something fans had been speculating about for months. Continuing the playful exchange, he remarked, “Paaji, you are back on the show after so many years, bhale hi gathbandhan ki sarkar bani ho. How are you feeling? Netflix is spending big, but how do you feel?” Sidhu, always ready with a poetic response, recited a shayari about how Dehradun could never interfere in the bond between two people from Amritsar.
The banter didn’t stop there. Kapil took another light-hearted shot at Archana, joking that she had been restless ever since she heard about Sidhu’s comeback. He cracked, “Jyotish ko jaake kehti hai, Rahu aur Ketu ko toh main sambhal lungi ye Sidhu ka koi upay batao.” The audience roared with laughter as Archana tried to keep a straight face.
The evening carried a sense of nostalgia for long-time fans of the show. Kapil admitted he was thrilled to have Sidhu back, but he couldn’t resist adding another cheeky comment. He joked that the team had to take a six-month break because of Sidhu, implying that his absence had left a gap no one else could fill. Sidhu, never one to miss an opportunity, replied with a laugh, “Be glad it was just six months, imagine what you’d do if it lasted nine!”
Kapil quickly fired back, continuing their legendary back-and-forth. In a humorous comparison, he said, “Main toh phir break mein mere bacche hue, jab corona hua, aap toh chalte matchon mein kar gaye, dekho aap.” The playful exchanges reminded viewers of the effortless comic timing the duo shares.
The chemistry between Kapil, Sidhu, and Archana was unmistakable, proving that even after years, some bonds in showbiz remain strong and effortlessly entertaining.
