Dipika Kakar, a much-loved face on Indian television, recently underwent a tough battle with stage 2 liver cancer. Her husband, Shoaib Ibrahim, has been standing by her side throughout this difficult time. He has also made sure to keep fans updated on her health through his social media and YouTube vlogs. In his latest video, Shoaib offered a heartfelt update about Dipika’s recovery and shared moments from their personal life during these testing days.
The couple, who have often shared glimpses of their simple, happy life, faced one of their biggest challenges yet. Shoaib began by sharing that Dipika’s condition has improved a lot. The actor mentioned, “Kaafi better hai. Abhi uska chalna firna start ho gaya hai. Normal diet pe aa gayi hai. Bohot bhetar hai.”
Shoaib revealed that her reports are showing positive signs. However, the stitches from her surgery still cause her discomfort. A couple of days post-surgery, Dipika developed a severe cough, which made the pain around the stitches worse. Shoaib admitted those two days were especially difficult for her. He added that sleep was hard to come by after the operation, but she finally slept well on the night of April 8. It was a small but meaningful relief for both of them.
The actor also recalled a tough moment when Dipika had to be in the ICU after surgery. She became anxious seeing the medical equipment around her. The tube placed in her nose made her uncomfortable, and she began to panic, fearing she would have to stay in the ICU for two to three days. Her fear of the unfamiliar medical environment added to the emotional weight the family was already carrying.
Once Dipika was moved out of the ICU, she had a bad cough for two days, which made recovery slower. Shoaib shared that during this time, he decided not to let their family visit the hospital frequently to keep the environment calm. Their little son Ruhaan would come by for a while and then leave. Seeing his face brought a little warmth into those otherwise difficult hours.
Shoaib also opened up on the heavy emotions the family experienced ever since they first received the news about Dipika’s condition. He expressed it best when he said, “Yeh jo 8-10 din the thode se heavy the, jab se yeh khabar mili hai.”
Amidst all this, the family also had to manage another health scare, as Shoaib’s brother Rehaan was hospitalized at the same time. It was a double blow for the family, but they held on to hope and kept supporting one another. Shoaib informed viewers that though Dipika’s tumor has been removed, some follow-up tests and monitoring will continue. He admitted it was still a long road ahead but remained optimistic about the future.
Towards the end of his vlog, Shoaib gave fans a glimpse of Dipika smiling and thanking everyone for their love and prayers. She expressed how their support had given her strength through this painful journey. A heartwarming moment followed when the video showed Dipika playing with little Ruhaan, her face lighting up with joy. It was a beautiful reminder that even in the toughest times, family moments offer healing and hope.
