Ashi Singh has quietly crossed a milestone that many in the bustling city of Mumbai only dream of. The actress, currently charming audiences as Kairi in Ufff…Yeh Love Hai Mushkil opposite Shabir Ahluwalia, has bought her own house. It’s a personal victory that means far more to her than flashy cars or designer wardrobes. In a heartfelt chat, Ashi opened up about what this achievement represents and the long road it took to get here.

Mumbai, the city of dreams, isn’t always kind to those chasing them. Ashi remembers it well. She moved to the city as a teenager while still in school, and for years, she and her family lived in rented apartments. “And I don’t know why, but people here trouble tenants a lot. It feels like they are giving us money to stay, not the other way around,” she admitted, pulling back the curtain on an uncomfortable truth.

For Ashi, a home wasn’t about making a statement. It wasn’t about marble floors or luxury interiors. It was about a sense of belonging, about owning a small corner of the city that had given her so much yet kept her at arm’s length. “I didn’t want a designer bag or a good car or a sports car, nothing. I just wanted a house, which finally I got. It was an important target to achieve,” she shared.

Interestingly, despite receiving the keys, Ashi hasn’t moved in yet. Her current residence, just ten minutes from her TV set, remains more practical. “My set is 10 minutes away. It doesn’t make sense to live an hour away. I’ve always said, wherever my set is, that’s where I’ll live. I can’t deal with Mumbai’s traffic—being stuck for two hours every day is not for me,” she said with a laugh.

For Ashi, the house represents more than bricks and walls. It’s a reminder of where she came from and how far she’s managed to go without losing sight of what truly matters to her. While others may chase glam and glitz, she chose security and peace of mind.

The actress’s candid reflections paint a portrait of a young woman who knows what she wants and why it matters. It’s proof that sometimes, the greatest luxury is a key to your own door and the peace of knowing you no longer need anyone’s approval to stay.
