The Great Indian Kapil Show has returned with its third season, and the second episode was a lively mix of laughter, nostalgia, and surprising stories. The episode featured the star cast of Metro… In Dino, bringing together names like Anupam Kher, Pankaj Tripathi, and director Anurag Basu. As always, Kapil Sharma steered the conversation with his signature wit, teasing guests and digging out amusing memories from their lives.
The evening took an interesting turn when Kapil spoke about Anurag Basu’s many talents. Kapil complimented him for being a multitasker and even joked about his cooking skills. Anupam Kher added to the praise by revealing that Basu isn’t just good with a camera or in the kitchen, he knows how to dance as well. Everyone laughed and cheered for the filmmaker, who then shared a thoughtful piece of advice. He remarked that anyone stepping into the film world should always keep a backup plan, which is why he made it a point to learn different skills.
The conversation soon moved to Pankaj Tripathi. Known for his grounded personality, Tripathi revealed a lesser-known fact about his past. Before his acting career took off, he worked as a chef in a hotel. This disclosure earned applause from the audience and set the stage for more personal stories.
It was Anupam Kher’s turn next, and he didn’t hold back. He confessed that before becoming an actor, he too had picked up an unusual job. The veteran actor shared, “After I finished my course at National School of Drama, all my formal education from first standard to third ended.” The statement, delivered with a smile, made everyone laugh.
Kher continued, saying he once came across an advertisement offering a massage course at a hotel. Curious and eager to learn something new, he signed up for it. He added, “Maine 3 mahine ka massage ka course kiya. Massage ki bhi thi 2 mahine”.
The story became even more entertaining when he recalled an incident from the sets of the film Hum. Anupam said that during the shoot, many actors including Amitabh Bachchan and Danny Denzongpa were seated together. In a playful mood, he began giving everyone a massage. He even massaged Shilpa Shirodkar’s mother. At that moment, a sudden power cut plunged the set into darkness. Remembering it, Kher narrated that Shilpa’s mother, surprised by the situation, exclaimed, “Oh Anupam!” The memory made the entire set of Kapil’s show burst into laughter.
What made the story even better was Amitabh Bachchan’s reaction. Kher revealed that the superstar teased him by shouting, “Bhaiya light jaldi lekar aao.” The lighthearted remark from Amitabh, as recounted by Anupam, brought the house down with laughter.
Kapil couldn’t resist teasing Anupam after this hilarious confession. The show’s host joked about Kher’s unique career journey, from theatre stages to massage rooms, before finally conquering the big screen. The evening continued with more such light moments, with each guest sharing stories from their younger days.
With every episode, The Great Indian Kapil Show continues to prove that laughter truly knows no boundaries.
