Aman Yatan Verma recently grabbed attention on social media after a video of him performing a magic trick surfaced online. The video, a playful clip from a film he’s currently working on, quickly went viral. What drew even more curiosity was his cheeky comment suggesting he had taken up magic “for his paapi pet.” While the post was meant in good humor, it led to rumors that the actor had switched professions due to financial troubles.
Many assumed Aman had turned to magic as a means of income. Clarifying the situation, Aman made it clear there’s no shortage of work in his life, nor is he facing any money problems. The actor seemed amused by the sudden assumptions, noting that people often miss the context behind a lighthearted post. He pointed out how, out of all the comments under the video, only the humorous one went viral. He remarked, “If people don’t have a sense of humour, there’s nothing I can do about it.”
Aman revealed that the video was a simple behind-the-scenes moment from his ongoing film project. For his role, he had to learn the art of magic, which required serious preparation. He shared how he trained for nearly a month and a half to master the tricks. The process involved working with rubber bottles, hidden flowers, and specially designed jackets with multiple secret pockets. The work, he admitted, wasn’t easy and demanded full commitment.
This wasn’t Aman’s first brush with magic either. He recalled hosting a show called Jadoo back in 2002-2003. Even then, he had to rehearse for a full month to get every act right. He explained that whenever he takes on a new skill, it’s important for him to do thorough homework before performing in front of an audience. That approach, he believes, is essential for any artist.
For Aman, learning magic wasn’t just about the role. He found it uplifting to step into a different art form. According to him, that feeling of bringing happiness to others offers a unique high in life. “When you get into any kind of art form, there’s a feeling of positivity – that’s what I feel,” he said. Aman believes that as a performer, the ultimate goal is to be loved for one’s craft.
Alongside his professional life, Aman’s personal matters have also attracted attention. Speculation about his marriage to Vandana Lalwani has circulated for some time. The couple, who tied the knot in 2016, are currently going through divorce proceedings. When asked about the situation, Aman chose to stay reserved. He stated that while he wasn’t ready to speak about it yet, he would eventually share his thoughts when the time felt right.
