Rahul Vaidya has once again landed himself in controversy, this time involving Indian cricket star Virat Kohli. The singer, who’s currently part of the cooking reality show Laughter Chefs, claimed that Kohli had blocked him on Instagram. This unexpected statement created an uproar, especially among Kohli’s vast fan following, leading to heavy criticism directed at Vaidya.

The incident took a new turn when Abhijeet Sawant, the first-ever winner of Indian Idol, weighed in on the matter. Although both singers once shared the Indian Idol stage as competitors, Abhijeet made it clear that he doesn’t share a personal bond with Rahul. He opened up about the controversy with candid remarks about Vaidya’s public image and approach to attention.

According to Abhijeet, Rahul has always had a knack for doing things that keep him in the spotlight. He remarked, “He is somebody, jaise maine kaha, unnoticed; he will never go unnoticed (laughs).” Abhijeet hinted that Rahul’s actions seem driven by a need to stay visible, sometimes resorting to peculiar antics for attention.

When asked about the wisdom of targeting someone like Virat Kohli, especially considering the cricketer’s loyal and passionate fanbase, Abhijeet didn’t mince words. He admitted that it might be possible, but added that such incidents hardly carry any relevance. He expressed, “Fine, if someone is genuinely doing something wrong, no matter how big they are, then you should speak up.” However, he questioned the necessity of this particular episode, stating it felt meaningless, especially since no one else had reacted or commented on it.

The controversy itself began with a social media incident involving actress Avneet Kaur. A while ago, one of her Instagram posts went viral after receiving a like from Virat Kohli. The moment created a brief stir, but Kohli later clarified that it happened due to an algorithm error. It was in this context that Rahul Vaidya took to Instagram Live and jokingly suggested that Kohli blocking him might also be an algorithm glitch.

As it stands, the episode seems to be fading out as fans shift their focus elsewhere. However, it serves as yet another example of how public personalities navigate the thin line between humor and headlines, and how every comment in the digital age has the power to turn into a public spectacle.
