The world’s most prestigious celebration of cinema and glamour, Cannes Film Festival 2025, kicks off today in France. But this year, it’s not just the films that are making headlines – it’s the fashion rules! The festival organizers have introduced strict new dress code guidelines, explicitly banning nudity and oversized outfits from the iconic red carpet.

New Fashion Filters at Cannes 2025

The stunning red carpet appearances have always been one of the biggest attractions of Cannes. However, this year, models and celebrities will face new restrictions. The ban on nude and bulky fashion aims to enhance elegance while ensuring smooth flow and comfort during photo ops.

Purpose Is Not to Restrict Fashion, Say Organizers

According to Cannes officials, the idea behind the new rules is not to suppress fashion creativity but to maintain the dignity of the event and adhere to French cultural protocols. Heavy, exaggerated outfits often create logistical challenges during red carpet appearances. The goal is to create an elegant yet comfortable environment for all.

“The dress code is meant to be exciting yet respectful of the festival’s spirit,” a spokesperson clarified.

Festival Schedule and Streaming Time in India

The 78th Cannes Film Festival officially begins on May 13, 2025, at 11:00 AM (France Time). Indian viewers can catch the opening updates from 2:30 PM IST onwards through Cannes’ official social media channels.
