Renowned Bollywood filmmaker and National Award winner Vinod Kapri has allegedly received death threats after posting a peace message related to Operation Sindoor on social media. The incident has triggered a police investigation in Noida, where the filmmaker has filed an official complaint.
The Trigger: A Peace Message on Social Media
On May 8, 2025, Kapri posted a simple message on his X (formerly Twitter) account: “Say No to War”. This post, made shortly after the controversial Operation Sindoor, drew backlash from several users. What followed was not just trolling—but severe threats to his life.

Soon after, Kapri’s private phone number was leaked online, leading to a flood of threatening calls and abusive messages. Disturbingly, some of the threats included rape threats towards his wife and claims of a contract killing being placed on him.

Named Accused in the Complaint
In his complaint to the Sector-49 Noida Police, Kapri named Praveen Kumar Soni and Arun Yadav as the main instigators. According to Kapri, Soni made inflammatory posts against him on Facebook, while Yadav shared his personal number publicly.
The filmmaker provided screenshots and URLs of the accused accounts in his complaint.
Harassment Details: Obscene Messages and Threats
Kapri reported receiving thousands of calls and texts, many of which were obscene, threatening, and abusive. Some messages threatened physical harm, while others mentioned hiring criminals to execute him.
