The television industry is mourning the tragic death of actor Vibhu Raghave, best known for his role in Nisha Aur Uske Cousins. The actor passed away on Monday, June 3, after a prolonged battle with Stage 4 colon cancer. He breathed his last at Nanavati Hospital in Mumbai. Vibhu, whose real name was Vaibhav Kumar Singh Raghav, had been fighting the disease for years and had shared his health journey publicly on social media.
Battling Cancer Without Financial Support
Despite being a popular face in Indian television, Vibhu faced severe financial difficulties during his treatment. Due to his health, he had to stop taking up new projects, which led to a complete loss of income. As a result, he couldn’t even afford the expensive treatment cancer required.
Close friends and colleagues like Simple Kaul, Kaveri Priyam, and Karan Veer Mehra confirmed his passing and had previously appealed to fans for monetary support via social media.
His Work and Connections in the Industry
Vibhu was widely known for his roles in shows like Nisha Aur Uske Cousins and Savdhaan India. He shared close bonds with many industry stars including Saumya Tandon, Aneri Vajani, and Simple Kaul. His cheerful and positive presence was loved by colleagues and fans alike.
He remained active on social media for a long time, frequently updating his followers about his health and spreading positivity. However, in the last month, he had gone completely silent online – a silence that deeply worried his fans.
Friends Shared Emotional Tributes
After his passing, Simple Kaul shared a heartfelt note on Instagram:
“With a heavy heart, we want to inform our loved ones that our dear friend Vibhu has left us today. Please keep him in your prayers. Love and light. Om Namah Shivay.”
She also shared a picture of Vibhu with details of his funeral, which was scheduled to be held on Tuesday afternoon in Mumbai. Other celebrities like Arti Singh, Sachin Shroff, and Yuvika Chaudhary expressed their grief on the post.
Previous Appeals for Help
Earlier, Simple Kaul had posted on May 27 about Vibhu’s deteriorating health, writing:
“Our dear friend Vibhu, who is like family to us at the restaurant, has been fighting Stage 4 cancer at Nanavati Hospital for the past two weeks. We’re all trying to help in every possible way.”
She also urged the public to donate, sharing the Ketto link for his treatment. Celebrities like Aditi Malik and Aneri Vajani also joined the appeal, emphasizing how even a small contribution could make a big difference.
Vibhu Raghave’s passing has left a deep void in the TV industry. His fight against cancer and the lack of financial resources during such a critical time highlights the often-unseen struggles of actors behind the screen.
