Fame often brings admiration, but sometimes, it comes with a dark side. A popular TV actress recently experienced this terrifying reality when a Bengaluru man allegedly began stalking her, bombarding her with obscene photos and videos through multiple fake social media accounts.

The accused, identified as Naveen K. Mon, 41, a resident of Whitefield, Bengaluru, and an employee at a consultancy firm, has now been arrested by the police after the actress filed a formal complaint.

Obsession Turned Harassment

According to police sources, the ordeal began three months ago when the actress declined a Facebook friend request from a profile named “Naveenz.” Shortly afterward, she began receiving messages from the same account on Messenger, which soon escalated into a barrage of vulgar messages and explicit images.

Despite warnings and being blocked several times, Naveen allegedly created multiple fake profiles to continue sending offensive material. His persistence forced the actress to take legal action.

A Bold Confrontation Gone Wrong

In an attempt to confront him directly, the actress agreed to meet the man in Nagarbhavi on November 1, hoping to warn him face-to-face to stop the harassment. However, the meeting took an ugly turn when Naveen reportedly misbehaved and used abusive language after she refused his advances.

Police Take Swift Action

Following the confrontation, police intervened and detained Naveen. During questioning, he allegedly shouted at officers and falsely claimed to be associated with two national newspapers.

Authorities have booked him under BNS Sections 75 (sexual harassment), 78 (stalking), and 79 (outraging a woman’s modesty). The devices used to send obscene content have been seized and sent for forensic examination. Naveen has been remanded to judicial custody.
