It has since won several accolades including Best Director, Best Cinematography, and Best Actress at the Beijing International Film Festival, and Best Film and Best Director at Japan’s Skip City International D-Cinema Festival. It also earned a Special Mention at the Zurich Film Festival.
In India, the film premiered at the Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival and was screened at the 28th Kerala International Film Festival, earning widespread praise from audiences and critics alike.
What the Trailer Reveals
The trailer begins with a heart-wrenching scene—a child is abducted from his mother Jumppa’s (Mia Maelzer) arms while she sleeps at a deserted railway station. What follows is a desperate and dangerous quest for justice. Jumppa is joined by two brothers, Raman (Shubham Vardhan) and Gautam (Abhishek Banerjee), as they dive deep into a journey that traverses hostile rural India.
Tension escalates as their search turns into a brutal battle for survival, testing the limits of hope, justice, and revenge. The trailer is soaked in raw emotion and edge-of-your-seat intensity, offering a glimpse into a story where morality blurs in the face of pain and desperation.
Director’s Vision
Director Karan Tejpal shared,
“Stolen may seem like a thriller on the surface, but its emotional depth lingers long after the film ends. It’s about two contrasting worlds colliding in unexpected ways. The response from international festivals has been humbling, and I’m thrilled that Prime Video will now bring it to audiences worldwide.”

“This role was deeply transformative for me as an actor. Jumppa’s emotional complexity pushed me to explore new depths. The festival response has been overwhelming, and I’m proud that this unique story will now reach a global audience.”
Shubham Vardhan, who portrays Raman, added:
