Sarangapani Jathakam, the much-talked-about Telugu comedy thriller, is finally making its way to OTT just weeks after its successful theatrical release. The film, which had a grand release on April 25, turned out to be a surprise box-office hit, blending humor, suspense, and a bizarre murder plan — all revolving around the belief in astrology.
Directed by the acclaimed Indraganti Mohanakrishna, the film stars Priyadarshi and Rupa Koduvayur in lead roles. Backed by an ensemble cast including VK Naresh, Tanikella Bharani, Avasarala Srinivas, Vennela Kishore, and Viva Harsha, Sarangapani Jathakam offers a unique plot that mixes laughter with a tinge of thriller.
The story follows Sarangapani (Priyadarshi), a horoscope-obsessed man who falls for Mythili (Rupa Koduvayur), his colleague at a car showroom. The couple plans a traditional wedding, and everything seems perfect until a twist arrives — a well-known astrologer predicts that Sarangapani will commit a murder.
Desperate to ensure that Mythili doesn’t carry the burden of marrying a murderer, Sarangapani hatches a wild plan — commit a murder before the wedding! What unfolds is a chaotic, laugh-out-loud journey, as Sarangapani, with the help of his friends Chandu (Vennela Kishore) and Harsha, tries to turn destiny around.
Though there hasn’t been an official confirmation, buzz strongly suggests that Sarangapani Jathakam will start streaming on Amazon Prime Video from midnight tonight (May 22). This rapid OTT release within a month of its theatrical run is sure to delight fans who missed it in cinemas.
