Rupali Ganguly has always been one of television’s brightest stars, known for her heartfelt performances and natural charm. But this time, she’s making headlines not for her popular show Anupamaa, but for an emotional tribute to her brother, choreographer Vijay Ganguly. Vijay recently captured attention with his remarkable work in Sitaare Zameen Par, Aamir Khan’s latest film that has quietly turned into a box office success and a favourite among audiences.

The film’s touching story struck a chord with viewers, and Vijay’s choreography has received particular praise for seamlessly blending with the film’s sensitive narrative. Rupali, overwhelmed with pride, visited the film’s sets and later shared a personal and affectionate note on Instagram, celebrating her brother’s achievements and the entire team’s effort. Alongside warm photos with Aamir Khan, Vijay, and others from the shoot, she poured out her feelings for a film that clearly holds a special place in her heart.

Rupali began her note by calling Sitaare Zameen Par “a film with a heart” and explained why it means so much to her. She revealed how this project marks an important milestone in her brother’s career. From starting with “Bum Bum Bole” in Taare Zameen Par, Vijay has come a long way to choreographing solo for a full film under Aamir Khan’s banner. Rupali confessed how proud she felt seeing his name on the screen.

What makes it even more personal is that Vijay got the chance to revisit his years of training with specially-abled children while working on this film. Rupali admired how his choreography effortlessly weaved into the story, enhancing emotions without ever feeling forced. And when the choreography needed to shine, it did so with elegance and power.

She thanked Vijay for inviting her to the set. Expressing gratitude, she wrote, “Also big thank u for inviting me to your set where I met fabulous people like Prasanna Sir and Aamir Sir and along with my sweetheart Rishi.”

Rupali also took a moment to appreciate her long-time friend, Rishi Shahani, who made his acting debut with this film. Their connection goes back more than 25 years, having danced together at SDIPA under Vijay’s guidance. She expressed joy over seeing Rishi achieve this milestone in such a meaningful project and was proud to see his talent celebrated.

The actress then turned her praise towards Anupamaa’s dialogue writer Divy Nidhi Sharma, who also penned the script and dialogues for Sitaare Zameen Par. Rupali credited him for adding depth and soul to the film. She admired his ability to make dialogues memorable and emotionally charged, saying, “The dialogues uff uff uff.”

Rupali didn’t forget director R.S. Prasanna, the man behind the vision. She called him a genius, believing only he could imagine and execute a story like this with such heart and warmth. She admired how he guided the film’s tone and brought out genuine performances from his cast, particularly the special actors whose presence lit up the screen. She fondly remembered meeting Satbir, Bantu, Raju, Sunil, Kareem, and Lotus, the man she described as having “the best jokes.”

This beautiful blend of family pride, friendship, and heartfelt cinema has made Rupali’s note one of the most touching moments off-screen. It reminds everyone that behind every successful film lies a web of personal journeys, quiet sacrifices, and the joy of celebrating each other’s victories.
