In a shocking turn of events, actress and model Neha Malik has reported a theft of jewellery worth ₹34.49 lakh from her residence in Mumbai. The theft was allegedly carried out by a domestic help who has now been arrested by the police.

According to reports, Neha’s mother, Manju Malik, filed a complaint at the Amboli Police Station after she noticed that all her jewellery was missing from her bedroom. The prime suspect was their house help, who had been working in the house and had suddenly gone missing a day after the theft.

House Help Disappeared After Incident

As per the FIR, the incident took place last Friday when Manju Malik left the house to visit a Gurudwara, leaving the house help alone at home. The next day, the help did not report for work, prompting Manju to repeatedly call her, but she didn’t respond. Concerned, she checked her wooden drawer in the bedroom and was shocked to find the jewellery missing.

Manju Malik told the police that she kept her gold ornaments in a cloth pouch in the drawer, and the house help was aware of the location. She immediately informed her daughter, actress Neha Malik, who then contacted the police.

Police Launch Search, Recover Stolen Jewellery

Based on the complaint, police registered an FIR under section 306 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and launched an investigation. The accused, identified as Shehnaz Mustafa Shaikh, was tracked down and arrested from JB Nagar in Andheri. The stolen jewellery was recovered from her possession.

Neha Malik, known for her roles in films like Gandhi Phir Aa Gaye, Musafir, and Pinky Moge Wali 2, has expressed relief after the prompt action taken by the Mumbai police.
