Sources from Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) revealed that the meeting included 37 families affected by the tragic incident. The party booked 50 resort rooms to host the gathering, ensuring comfort and privacy for the grieving families.
During the session, Vijay personally interacted with each family, expressing regret and acknowledging their pain. He arranged lunch for everyone and spoke about his inability to reach Karur earlier, stating that he hadn’t received official permission from authorities to visit the site at that time.
Financial and Educational Support Promised
According to reports, Vijay assured families of financial aid, along with long-term support in education, self-employment, and housing assistance. He promised to personally oversee rehabilitation efforts and visit Karur soon to extend further help.

Vijay had previously announced a ₹20 lakh compensation per victim’s family immediately after the tragedy. The ongoing CBI inquiry aims to uncover the causes behind the stampede and determine accountability.
