Who is Hissar’s YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra? Arrested for Spying for Pakistan

In a shocking development, Haryana-based travel YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra, popularly known as “Travel With Jo” on social media, has been arrested on charges of espionage for Pakistan. Her arrest has sparked serious national security concerns as investigation agencies claim she was involved in leaking sensitive information related to India to Pakistan’s intelligence network.

According to sources, Jyoti was in contact with a man named Danish, who was working at the Pakistan High Commission. Reports suggest Danish not only established contact with Jyoti but also persuaded her to visit Pakistan, where she allegedly met operatives from Pakistan’s intelligence agencies. These operatives reportedly extracted classified information from her regarding Indian defense and strategic locations.

Travel Vlogs Used as Cover for Espionage

Jyoti gained fame through her travel vlogs on YouTube, visiting several countries and posting content that appeared harmless. However, investigators now believe her YouTube channel was a cover for espionage activities. During her visits to Pakistan, she not only shot travel videos but also collected and shared data on military bases, border areas, and other strategic sites.

The intelligence agencies suspect that this information was passed on to Pakistan’s ISI. So far, six suspected spies with Pakistani links have been arrested from Haryana and Punjab, indicating the existence of a well-organized spy network.

Police Interrogation Unveils Shocking Details

During interrogation, Jyoti revealed she held a valid passport and had applied for a Pakistan visa through the Pakistan High Commission in Delhi in 2023. There, she met Ahsan-ur-Rahim, alias Danish, who is believed to be the mastermind behind this operation. Their contact intensified over time, and Jyoti made two trips to Pakistan, disguised as a regular vlogger.

Despite appearing as leisure visits, these trips had a sinister objective. The videos and blogs were allegedly part of a larger plan to collect strategic Indian data under the guise of travel content.

Sensitive Indian Data Shared in Pakistan

While in Pakistan, Jyoti was introduced to Ali Ahwan, who arranged her accommodation, food, and logistics. Ali later facilitated her meetings with intelligence officials. During these sessions, Jyoti reportedly shared multiple sensitive Indian details—though it remains unclear whether this was done voluntarily or under coercion.

Authorities now believe that Jyoti’s activities were not isolated but part of a coordinated espionage campaign, using civilians and digital platforms like YouTube as tools for gathering and leaking data.

A Wake-up Call for National Security

Jyoti’s arrest highlights a growing trend where social media, digital influencers, and tech platforms are being exploited for espionage. A seemingly innocent YouTube channel can pose a serious threat to national security, turning a common citizen into a pawn in international spying networks.

This case is a wake-up call for Indian authorities to closely monitor the digital activities of influencers, especially those traveling internationally under suspicious circumstances.
