A shocking case has rocked the South Indian film industry after reports emerged that legendary actor Chiranjeevi has filed a formal complaint with Hyderabad Cyber Crime Police. The superstar alleged that his AI-generated deepfake videos were uploaded on multiple pornographic websites, triggering a wave of anger and concern among fans.
The Shocking Allegation
According to the complaint, unknown cybercriminals used deepfake technology to create obscene videos with Chiranjeevi’s face and uploaded them on adult platforms without consent. The actor, known for his dignified public image, immediately reached out to the authorities to take legal action.
Police Register Case Under Multiple Sections
The Hyderabad Cyber Crime unit has registered a case under several sections — 67 and 67A of the IT Act, sections 79, 294, 296, and 336(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and sections 2(c), 3, and 4 of the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act, 1986.
The police have begun a full-fledged investigation to trace the culprits and identify the source of the manipulated videos.
Fans Express Outrage
The news has deeply disturbed Chiranjeevi’s massive fanbase. Supporters across social media are demanding swift and strict action against those responsible. Many have expressed how shocking it is that even respected public figures are no longer safe from AI abuse and digital impersonation.
The Growing Deepfake Menace
This incident highlights the dark side of artificial intelligence, where deepfake technology is increasingly being misused for defamation, fraud, and character assassination. While female actors have often been the target, this case marks one of the first major instances involving a male superstar in India.
