In a tragic incident that has shocked the Pakistani entertainment industry, legendary actress Ayesha Khan was found dead in her apartment in Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Karachi. Her decomposed body was discovered almost a week after her death, following complaints of a foul odor from neighbors.
What Happened?
According to police reports, neighbors in the Gulshan-e-Iqbal area alerted authorities after sensing a persistent stench from Ayesha Khan’s apartment. Upon entering the premises, the police discovered the actress’s decomposed body, indicating that she had been dead for about a week.
The body was immediately transferred to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center for medical-legal formalities, and later shifted to Edhi Foundation mortuary in Sohrab Goth on the request of her family.
Police Investigation Ongoing
Senior Superintendent of Police Dr. Farooq Raza confirmed that preliminary investigation suggests a natural cause of death. “The body seemed to be around 7 days old,” he said. Karachi Police Surgeon Dr. Summaiya Syed added that the final rites would be held once her son arrives from abroad.

Ayesha Khan, 77, was a renowned face in Pakistani television, having starred in several classic drama serials like “Afshan,” “Urusa,” “Aanch,” “Bandhan,” and “Shaam Se Pehle.” Her performances made her a household name in Pakistan during the golden era of PTV dramas.
Living alone in her later years, Ayesha was said to be reclusive, especially after her children moved abroad.
