After the release of her film Saiyara, actress Aneet Padda had won millions of hearts — but now, she’s facing severe backlash. A video of her singing and dancing to the famous Urdu prayer “Lab Pe Aati Hai Dua” has gone viral, leaving many social media users accusing her of hurting the sentiments of the Muslim community.

The Viral Video That Triggered the Controversy

In the video, Aneet Padda can be seen performing a rap version of the prayer, often heard in schools and madrasas. The prayer, originally a Muslim ‘Naat’ (devotional recitation), is considered sacred. However, Aneet’s performance, which includes smiling, laughing, and changing accents while rapping, has been termed disrespectful by many.

According to reports, the video is not new but has resurfaced recently, igniting a new wave of anger on social media. Another girl can also be seen alongside Aneet, joining her in the act.

After the clip went viral, users flooded the internet with criticism. One commented, “Mocking another religion’s prayer isn’t creativity.” Another wrote, “She’s finished now; this is unacceptable.” A third added, “This is a Dua, not a song to dance to. We used to recite it in our schools.”

Despite a few defending her as being “unaware,” the majority of reactions have been harsh, calling the act insensitive and offensive.
