Diljit Dosanjh’s Viral Lines Stir the Pot

The controversy erupted when Diljit, during his Dil-Luminati Tour concert, passionately said:

“Agar khilaf hai toh hone do, jaan thodi hai. Yeh sab dua hai, aasman thodi hai. Sabhi ka khoon shaamil hai is mitti mein, kisi ke baap ka Hindustan thodi hai.”

This poetic expression, meant to underline unity and sacrifice, did not sit well with everyone.

Abhijeet Responds: “Hindustan Is Our Ancestors’”

Reacting sharply, Abhijeet Bhattacharya shared the video on Instagram and attached a strong message of his own. In his response, he stated:

“Hindustan is our fathers’ and forefathers’ land,”

He ended the clip by holding the Indian flag proudly, reinforcing his stance on patriotism. In his caption, he wrote:

“Hindustan is ours.”

His statement quickly gained attention across social media platforms, leading to divided public opinion.

Imtiaz Ali Defends Diljit Dosanjh

Renowned filmmaker Imtiaz Ali, who recently worked with Diljit on Amar Singh Chamkila, stood in his defense. Speaking on the matter, Ali clarified:

“I don’t know the whole issue, but I can say that Diljit is a true patriot at heart. Also, actors don’t always decide the casting of films.”

This statement came after Diljit was criticized for working with Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in his upcoming film Sardaar Ji 3.

Why the Backlash?

Following the Pahalgam terror attack, Indian audiences have been sensitive about the involvement of Pakistani artists in Indian cinema. The fact that Sardaar Ji 3 stars Hania Aamir has sparked outrage, especially after the film’s trailer dropped.

However, Diljit clarified that the movie was shot much before current political tensions arose. While the film has been banned in India, it has been released overseas.
