Bollywood’s renowned singer and music composer Sachin Sanghvi has been accused of sexual assault by a young woman. According to police reports, the woman alleged that Sanghvi exploited her under the pretext of offering a role in a music album. Following the complaint, the musician was arrested under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.
Who Is Sachin Sanghvi?
According to PTI, Sachin Sanghvi — celebrated for blockbuster songs in films like Stree 2 and Bhediya — was arrested on Thursday. The 20-year-old complainant claimed that she first came into contact with Sanghvi in February 2024 through Instagram. He allegedly offered her a music opportunity, shared his phone number, and later invited her to his studio.
There, she alleges, Sanghvi proposed marriage and sexually harassed her on multiple occasions.
Sanghvi is one-half of the popular music composer duo Sachin–Jigar, known for their chart-topping tracks in Bollywood and independent music. Before teaming up with Jigar Saraiya, he began his career assisting famed composer Pritam.
Their musical hits include “Jeene Laga Hoon” (Ramaiya Vastavaiya), “Sun Saathiya” (ABCD 2), “Chunar” (ABCD 2), “Apna Bana Le” (Bhediya), and “Mana Ke Hum Yaar Nahin” (Meri Pyaari Bindu). The duo’s work spans across romantic ballads, dance numbers, devotional tracks, Gujarati films, and web series soundtracks.
