From Bhojpuri Debut to Bollywood Fame

Sharda Sinha’s journey began in 1974 when she recorded her first Bhojpuri song. But her real breakthrough came in 1978 with “Uga Ho Suruj Dev”, which made her a household name.

In 1989, she entered Bollywood with the song “Keh Tose Sajna Tohre Sajanwa Se”, earning nationwide admiration. Over the years, she enriched Bhojpuri, Maithili, and Magahi music, and became a cultural icon of Bihar.

Honored with Padma Bhushan and National Awards

Sharda Sinha’s contribution to Indian music was recognized with multiple awards, including the Padma Shri, National Film Award, and Padma Bhushan in 2018. Her iconic rendition “Babul” from Hum Aapke Hain Koun..! remains timeless.

Even in her absence, her voice continues to inspire, celebrate, and unite generations through music and devotion.
