Bollywood superstar Deepika Padukone, known for staying away from controversies, now finds herself at the center of one — and this time, it involves filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga and the highly anticipated film Spirit, starring Prabhas.

Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Explosive Tweet Goes Viral

Without naming her directly, Vanga took to X (formerly Twitter) to express his fury over what he described as “disclosure” of sensitive film details. His post appeared to take a sharp dig at Deepika Padukone and her PR team, implying that they had leaked confidential information after she exited the project.

“When I narrate a story to an actor, I place 100% faith. There is an unsaid NDA between us. But by doing this, you’ve ‘DISCLOSED’ the person you really are…”

He further wrote, “Putting down a younger actor and ousting my story? Is this what your feminism stands for?”

Allegations of Unprofessionalism

According to reports, Deepika had several conditions for working in Spirit—including limited working hours, avoiding Telugu dialogues, a higher fee, and profit-sharing. The director and producers were allegedly not on board with these terms, leading to her exit.

Soon after, Vanga expressed disappointment over how confidential plot details started surfacing on social media, including rumors about the film’s bold scenes and adult content. In his post, he slammed the alleged leaks and PR tactics, saying:

“Next time, just narrate the whole script to the public… I honestly don’t care anymore.”

Triptii Dimri Steps In

Following Deepika’s exit, Triptii Dimri has reportedly been cast opposite Prabhas in Spirit. Dimri, known for her recent breakout performances, seems to be the new choice to lead the gritty film, which Vanga claims will push cinematic boundaries.

The Bigger Issue: Trust & Feminism

Sandeep Reddy Vanga emphasized the importance of trust between a filmmaker and actor. He accused the unnamed actress (strongly implied to be Deepika) of betraying that trust, questioning whether undermining a younger actress and compromising his work aligns with her supposed feminist ideals.

“You’ll never understand the years of craft behind filmmaking. It means everything to me,” he concluded.

As of now, Deepika Padukone has not responded to the viral post or the allegations. Meanwhile, Spirit continues to attract attention not just for its star cast, but also for the drama unfolding off-screen.
