In a recent statement, director Raaj Shaandilyaa has firmly refuted claims that his forthcoming film, “Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video,” bears any resemblance to the 2014 Hollywood movie “Sex Tape.” Known for his work on the popular “Dream Girl” series, Shaandilyaa emphasized that his film is an entirely original concept and that he has not even watched the American comedy starring Jason Segel and Cameron Diaz.

Clarification from the Director

Shaandilyaa, who is behind the comedy hit “Dream Girl,” addressed the speculation in an interview, asserting that his latest project, “Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video,” is distinct in its narrative and approach. The film features Rajkummar Rao and Triptii Dimri in lead roles and revolves around a married couple’s frantic search for a missing CD that contains a video of their wedding night.

Plot Distinctions

While both films explore themes involving intimate recordings, the plots are fundamentally different. “Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video” is centered on the couple’s efforts to recover their personal footage, which they fear might be misused. In contrast, “Sex Tape” focuses on a couple who create a sex tape to rekindle their romance, only to find themselves in a mess when the tape goes missing.

Original Storyline

Shaandilyaa’s explanation underscores the originality of “Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video.” The film is described as a unique blend of humor and romance, driven by its own creative storyline, and not inspired by any foreign films.
